Skaha Bluffs - Sport Climbing Package

The Skaha Bluffs outside of Penticton BC hosts is a sport climber’s paradise. In the rain-shadow of the Coast Mountains, the Okanagan region experiences very little rain, meaning Skaha can be a great climbing destination in the Spring or Fall, when the Coast Mountains and the Rockies are affected by seasonal rain and snow. The Bluffs themselves are mostly East or West facing, meaning you can chase the sun or the shade depending on the temperature. The metamorphic rock (Gneiss) is compact and well featured, leading to interesting face climbing, as well as steep overhanging routes. Best of all, it’s only a few hours away from Squamish, with a variety of camping or hotel accommodation options.

For 2025, the Skaha Bluffs Sport Climbing Package will be offered during May 1-19th, and as an on-demand custom trip for requested dates. A sample itinerary is to meet in Penticton Friday night for dinner and to chat more about the goals of the trip. Saturday is spent refreshing and updating climbing skills, climbing instruction (Learn-to-Lead, Fearless Falling, Sending Tactics), and Sunday we put our skills to use with a day of cragging (with options to refine our learning).
